Georgetown, Kentucky and Bluegrass Countryside

Georgetown is the county seat of Scott County, KY

Weisenberger Mill is a family owned and operated flour mill since 1865.  The creek has provided water to power the twin turbines since start up.

Front office handles walk in customers.

Several types of flour, wheat, cornmeal, grits and variety of mixes
are produced at the mill.

This is Bluegrass Country and the land of thoroughbred horses.

Black barns and fences are the norm as the paint lasts longer than white.

Four fence rails are used to prevent neck injuries to the horses.

Buffalo Gals Barn Quilt Trail in Scott County takes you along country roads.

The attraction is quilt squares painted on wood plaques and attached to barns.

There are more than 100 traditional and contemporary patterns.

The 4 ft x 8 ft squares preserve history in roadside art.
