Port Aransas, Texas Ship Canal and Beach

Ten miles southwest of Rockport, we ferried over the ship canal to Port Aransas.

A Great Egret stood watch over the fishermen at the jetty.

A lone RV dry camping on the State Beach. The owners were sitting outside with their cat enjoying the water view.

Near the ship canal, people were enjoying the sunny afternoon walking their dogs, collecting seashells and searching for valuable items with a metal detector.

A large ship entering the Corpus Christi Bay.

Popular place to fish off the jetty.  Huge blocks of granite possibly came from Marble Mountain in Marble Falls, TX.  You might recall our story on the granite mining operation.
