Arches National Park Utah

Moab, Utah is about 300 miles south of Heber City and located
near several National Parks and one state park.

Arches National Park has many natural sandstone arches, unusual rock formations including spires, fins and balanced rocks.

Entrance to the Park with Moab in the background.

The park lies on top of an underground salt bed. Over time the sediments became rock and the salt dissolved.

Park Avenue reminds you of downtown buildings of sandstone.

Courthouse Tower

Three Gossips

Sheep Rock...note the sheep on top of tower.

Picture in your mind the left formation connected to the right rock tower.

Petrified Dunes were once sand dunes and now are solid rock.

Pothole Arch near Garden of Eden

Cache Valley is a green oasis in the desert.

Wesley Wolfe built this cabin in 1898.
He and his son homesteaded this ranch after the
Civil War.

Hiking trail to Delicate Arch.

Half way point for hikers.

End in sight for these hikers after the three mile hike.

Delicate Arch is 45 ft. in height and 33 ft. wide.
Well known state of Utah symbol.

Hot afternoon stopped our hike.
