Ste. Marie Aux Mine

Ste Marie Aux Mine is an isolated town up in the mountains.  It was first a mining center and later textiles.  In 1693 Jacob Amman started the Amish movement.

Today it hosts World Wide Patch Quilt exhibition.

Temporary tents were being set up for vendors and exhibits.

Our visit found vendors setting up shop.  This group was from Italy.

Samples already on display in some areas.

Imagine 1,000 quilts to be hung on display.  We arrived three days too early.
