A drive through the Black Forest Region took us to St. Peter and Triberg.
The Shield of the Abby
The Benedictine Abby in St. Peter was built 1073 and remodeled twice after fires. The church's exterior is red sandstone with white Rococo Gothic style interior.
The Black Forest has an Alpine Meadow feel about it.
The homeowners are big on use of rooftop solar units.
Triberg looks like an Alpine Village next to their Triberger Wasserfall which they claim to be the highest waterfall in Germany.
The stream from the fall runs through the town.
The town's claim to fame is the largest cuckoo clock in the world.
When the clock chimes, the fellow on the right climbs up the rope and
slides down.
Inside the store there are hundreds of cuckoo clocks
for tourists to purchase.
These clocks cost from 1,000 to 2,400 euros.
Wood carvings are very detailed on the high end clocks.
Local hotel with small restaurant has warm feel and good food.
Our dish was the Kalbsbraten with spatzle ..... roasted veal and noodles
with tasty wine gravy.

The Spirzjockelhof family has nice barn with waterwheel.
