Brunswick, Georgia is the gateway to the barrier islands of
Jekyll and St. Simons.
The fifteenth annual Brunswick Stewbilee Festival was
happening at Mary Ross Waterfront Park.
The Brunswick stew tasting contest is a charity event. Local
groups and restaurants offered their versions of the stew.
This popular southern dish is a tomato based stew with beans, corn,
okra, other vegetables with beef, pork and/or chicken.
Many shrimp boats use this only hurricane proof pier in area.
