Thirty miles south of Amana is the largest Amish
Community west of the Mississippi River.
The town is not having an anniversary yet!
Amish homemade cheese
Hardware store with furniture and gifts run by the Yoder Amish family.
They had new carnival glass and metal peacock dishes and pots.
Roasted chicken sandwich on homemade bread at the
local bakery was sooo good....
Town had a contest of their favorite quit patterns.
Painted thewinning patterns on the sidewalk.
Plaque states pattern design
Church converted to antique store with quilt shop next door.
Returning home from harness shop.
Our niece's children use to play in the city park.
We missed the hog roast leaving town too soon.
Saying goodbye to Iowa....watched the corn grow at
our RV park for almost a week. The lady in pink next to the
corn field shows how tall the corn has grown.
Love the quilt patterns!
ReplyDeleteHello Karen and Craig. This is your niece, Hadassah. I can't believe a couple of things... First, that you still follow our blog. Wow! Second, that I just thought of you two this afternoon and decided to look you up... and here you were in Kalona, Iowa this month. Wow, this just seems like one of those things that the Lord does.
ReplyDeleteI would love to look at your blog further and keep in touch. You can reach me at: geracihome@gmail.com. I'll check my e-mail tomorrow night as I will be doing my big shopping day tomorrow.
Well, take care and say hello to Trent and Blithe for me.
Love, Hadassah
