Isle sur la Sorgue, France

Isle sur la Sorgue is located in the Luberon area of Provence.

The town is an island which sits within the Sorque River.
Population is about 10,400 people.

This is our favorite town.

Many outdoor restaurants next to the river.

Map shows the Sorgue River splits completely around the town.

We personally enjoyed the walk along the river every day from our B&B to town.

The town has 9 old working waterwheels which still turn
in memory of the town's former wool and silk industry.

In town waterwheel is in the river.

Former Fabric Mill.

This store has been selling textiles for more than 50 years.

Market Day which is one of two a week.

Dresses similar to these were very popular by women in this area.

This area is known for growing and selling lavender.

How many boots does it take to make each dog?

Canoe and kayaks are very popular on the Sorgue.  It is a 5 mile, two hour trip.

Dad is giving lessons to the children.

Our B&B was right on the river, so we were able to watch them return in the afternoon.
